Cincy Discord Community Rules & Guidelines

Thanks for being part of Cincy Discord! This page outlines the expectations we have for all members — both online and at in-person events. It’s here to help clarify what kind of space we’re trying to create and what behaviors we aim to avoid.

Cincy Discord is built on mutual respect, thoughtful conversation, and real-world connection. These rules exist to help keep the community safe, friendly, and welcoming to all. By participating in any part of this community, you agree to follow the rules below.

📋 Rules at a Glance

Be respectful. No harassment, personal attacks, trolling, baiting, or deliberate antagonism.
No hateful or violent content. Hate speech, discriminatory content, threats, or advocacy of violence are prohibited. Never celebrate, advocate for, or joke about the death of a real person.
Respect boundaries. This includes unwanted attention, private contact, personal information, and behavior at in-person events.
Keep it work-safe. No sexually explicit or overly suggestive content. Cincy Discord is not a dating or hookup server.
Participate in good faith. Repeated patterns of hostility, argumentativeness, antagonism, or disruptive behavior may be moderated even when no single message breaks another rule.
Use the right spaces for controversial or heavy topics. Politics, hot-button issues, and other conversations that may require more emotional bandwidth belong in the opt-in Debate & Controversial Topics channel. Ordinary disagreement, serious conversation, or brief discussion of difficult subjects is fine elsewhere.
Be honest. Do not knowingly spread false information or fabricate evidence. Serious factual claims or allegations should be supported by reliable sources.
Health discussion is welcome, but don’t diagnose or prescribe treatment to other members. Sharing personal experiences and general health information is fine. Do not tell someone to start, stop, change, or substitute prescription medication or treatment, or present yourself as a substitute for professional medical care.
Respect privacy. Do not expose, investigate, or share personal information about another member without their permission.
Ask before initiating private contact. If you meet someone through Cincy Discord, build mutual rapport and get permission before starting a private conversation.
Do not use the server for prohibited transactions or illegal activity. This includes regulated goods and other illegal exchanges.
No recreational drug-use discussion. News, policy, medical treatment, and ordinary alcohol or tobacco discussion are allowed, but recreational drug-use discussion and sourcing are not.
No piracy, emulator, ROM, or BIOS discussion. This is an intentionally conservative house rule to keep moderation simple.
Do not use the community as a marketplace or advertising platform. Buying and selling goods or services is not allowed. Fundraising, outside-server recruitment, and other promotional posts require Admin approval.
Don’t attend meetups while sick. If you may still be contagious, stay home and follow the illness and meetup-attendance guidelines below.
You must be 18 or older to participate.
No active self-harm or suicide crisis content. Cincy Discord is not equipped to provide crisis intervention. Active crisis disclosures, threats, plans, methods, or graphic self-harm content are not allowed.

The summaries above are only a quick reference. The detailed policies below control when additional context or clarification is needed.

🌐 Where These Rules Apply

Cincy Discord is both an online community and a real-world meetup group. These rules and conduct standards apply in public server spaces, relevant private interactions between members, and at events organized, promoted, or coordinated through Cincy Discord.

At Cincy Discord events, members are expected to treat other attendees, Meetup Hosts, Event Managers, venue staff, service workers, and others with basic respect. Harassment, unwanted attention, repeated hostility or abrasive behavior, boundary violations, or disrespectful treatment of others may result in moderation action.

Not every awkward interaction, personality conflict, or complaint is a rule violation. Staff will consider the behavior, context, severity, and any established pattern. Serious incidents may result in immediate action even without a prior pattern.

Cincy Discord does not generally govern members’ private lives. However, off-server or off-platform behavior may be reviewed case-by-case when it involves other members or raises a meaningful concern about community safety, harassment, boundaries, or someone’s ability to participate safely in the community.

Moderation decisions are made by the Admin team based on the circumstances and available information.

🤒 Illness & Meetup Attendance

Please do not attend Cincy Discord events while you are actively sick or may still be contagious. Staying home when you’re sick helps protect other members and keeps our meetups comfortable and accessible to everyone.

Vomiting or diarrhea: Wait until you have been symptom-free for at least 48 hours before attending an event.
Fever or respiratory illness: Wait until your symptoms are clearly improving overall and you have been fever-free for at least 24 hours without fever-reducing medication.
If you’re still actively sick: Please sit the event out, even if you were looking forward to attending. There will be other meetups.
Members should never feel pressured to attend while recovering.
Event Hosts, Event Managers, Moderators, or Admins may ask someone not to attend or to leave an event when there is a reasonable concern that they are currently contagious.

This rule is about potentially contagious illness. Stable symptoms from allergies, chronic conditions, disabilities, or other non-infectious causes are not a reason to exclude someone from an event.

🛡️ Harassment & Boundaries

Cincy Discord is committed to providing a harassment-free experience for everyone. We do not tolerate harassment in any form, including on the server, in private interactions between members, or at meetups.

Harassment based on identity or personal characteristics — including race, gender, sexual orientation, disability, neurodivergence, appearance, or background — is not tolerated.

Harassment may include:

Threats, intimidation, or encouraging another person to harm themselves
Unwanted sexual comments, sexually explicit material directed at another member, or sexual advances
Discriminatory jokes, slurs, or imagery
Degrading, intrusive, or repeated comments about someone’s identity, appearance, lifestyle, or personal circumstances
Deliberate misgendering or outing
Posting or threatening to share another person’s private information
Stalking, continued unwanted contact, or refusing to respect a clearly stated personal boundary
Repeated unwanted teasing, jokes, or remarks directed at another member
Trolling, baiting, or deliberate disruption intended to provoke another person

This list is not exhaustive. Harassment can also involve a repeated pattern of targeted behavior that becomes hostile, intrusive, or dismissive of another member’s boundaries, even when individual incidents might appear minor in isolation.

If someone sets a boundary — online or in person — it must be respected immediately. Retaliating against someone for reporting harassment, or encouraging others to retaliate against them, will also result in moderation action.

People can edit or delete messages, so screenshots can be helpful when making a report, but they are not required.

🚫 Hateful, Dehumanizing & Violent Content

Do not post hate speech, slurs, discriminatory content, or content that degrades or dehumanizes people based on their identity or background.

Do not threaten, encourage, advocate for, or glorify violence against another person or group.

Advocating for, celebrating, or joking about the death of a real person, living or deceased, is strictly prohibited regardless of who the person is or how strongly you disagree with them. Clear, intentional violations will result in a permanent ban.

This rule does not prohibit factual discussion of death, violence, news, history, public policy, or similar subjects when discussed appropriately. Context matters when determining whether content is reporting or discussing something versus advocating for or celebrating harm.

🚨 Sexual Content, Dating & Unwanted Attention

Keep Cincy Discord work-safe. We do not allow nudity, sexually explicit or overly suggestive content, sexual jokes, graphic sexual stories, or sexualized usernames, avatars, or profiles. This applies even when the content is intended as a joke.

Ordinary, non-explicit discussion of relationships, dating, identity, health, news, or other adult topics is allowed. The rule is intended to prevent sexualized or explicit content, not ordinary discussion of adult life.

Cincy Discord is not a dating or hookup server. Do not use the community to solicit dates, hookups, sexual conversations, or romantic attention from members. Relationships that develop naturally and mutually between members are not prohibited.

Do not sexualize other members, make unwanted suggestive comments, pressure someone for romantic or sexual attention, or repeatedly pursue someone who has not shown mutual interest.

Unwanted attention can also become a moderation concern when it forms a pattern, even if individual interactions appear minor on their own. Respect boundaries immediately when someone indicates that attention or contact is unwanted.

If another member’s behavior makes you uncomfortable, please report it privately to the Admin team. A report of discomfort does not automatically establish wrongdoing, but it allows staff to review the conduct, context, and any broader pattern.

⚠️ Disruptive Patterns of Participation

Cincy Discord is a social community. Members are expected to participate in good faith and with reasonable consideration for how their behavior affects others.

A repeated pattern of disruptive behavior may be moderated even when individual messages do not independently violate another rule. This can include:

Repeatedly turning conversations into arguments or personal grievances
Habitual baiting, antagonism, or contrarian behavior that creates unnecessary conflict
Repeatedly escalating minor disagreements instead of disengaging
Dominating conversations with the same complaints or conflicts
Regularly redirecting otherwise social conversations toward hostility or confrontation
Patterns of behavior that consistently discourage others from participating or make normal conversation difficult

Disagreement, criticism, venting, and occasional negativity are not violations by themselves. Members are also free to participate as much or as little as they want.

Moderation under this rule should be based on an ongoing pattern and context, not simply because someone expressed an unpopular opinion or had a bad day.

✉️ Direct Messaging & Private Contact

Ask Before DMing

No unsolicited DMs or friend requests. If you met someone through Cincy Discord, don’t initiate private contact unless you’ve already had meaningful, mutual interaction with them in public server channels or at an in-person event and they have agreed publicly to moving the conversation private.

Permission can be contextual—for example, someone asking you to DM them a link counts as permission for that contact. Once two members have mutually established an ongoing private conversation, they do not need to repeatedly ask permission publicly.

Do not use the server to solicit private conversations from members you haven’t already interacted with, such as broad “DM me” or “my DMs are open” posts.

This rule does not apply to pre-existing relationships or private conversations that were already mutually established independently of Cincy Discord.

If someone asks you to stop contacting them or otherwise sets a boundary, respect it immediately.

Report Unwanted Contact

If another member sends you an unsolicited DM or friend request, please report it privately through an Admin ticket.

If you met someone through Cincy Discord and they later contact you on another platform in a way that is unwanted or makes you uncomfortable, you may report that as well. Off-platform situations will be reviewed case-by-case based on their connection to the community and any safety or boundary concerns.

Reports are kept confidential. Even seemingly minor reports are useful because they can help staff identify patterns involving the same member.

Our harassment, privacy, consent, safety, and member-conduct standards also apply to private interactions between members.

🔐 Respect Privacy & Personal Information

Do not share, expose, or threaten to share another person’s private or personally identifying information without their consent. This can include legal names, home addresses, phone numbers, personal email addresses, workplaces, precise locations, identifying information about family members, or other information that could be used to identify or locate someone.

Information being publicly available elsewhere does not automatically make it appropriate to repost here. Do not investigate, compile, or share personal information about another member that they have not chosen to disclose to the community.

Members may naturally reference information that someone has voluntarily shared about themselves in the server, such as the name they use here. However, sharing that information outside its intended context, combining it with additional identifying information, or using it to expose or locate someone may still violate this rule.

Do not pressure members to disclose personal information or continue asking after someone declines or sets a boundary.

Ordinary discussion of publicly known information about public figures is allowed when relevant to their public role. Sensitive personal information such as private addresses, phone numbers, or other non-public details is still prohibited.

Doxxing, threats to expose someone, or deliberate attempts to compromise another person’s privacy may result in severe moderation action.

🤝 Conflict Resolution & Public Callouts

Not every disagreement is a rule violation. However, when conflict becomes repetitive, disruptive, personal, or begins affecting the wider community, staff may step in.

If you are having a problem with another member, please open a private Admin ticket rather than turning the dispute into a public campaign.

Do not:

Publicly campaign against another member or encourage others to take sides
Use vague accusations or callout posts aimed at an identifiable person
Encourage others to shame, report, confront, or “take down” someone
Bring personal disputes into unrelated channels
Discuss someone negatively in spaces they cannot access for the purpose of rallying others against them
Bring conflicts from another server or community here to create drama
Post outside-community screenshots or identifying information in order to shame, expose, or mobilize others against someone

This does not prevent someone from setting a boundary publicly, correcting misinformation about themselves, or reporting a problem to staff. It also does not prevent moderators from addressing behavior publicly when the conduct occurred publicly or when clarification is useful to the wider community.

Staff may offer mediation when appropriate, but mediation is voluntary and is not required in cases involving harassment, threats, stalking, serious boundary violations, or other safety concerns.

If you genuinely want advice about an interpersonal situation, remove identifying details or check with an Admin before posting.

If conduct outside Cincy Discord may affect community safety, report it privately to the Admin team rather than bringing the dispute into public channels.

🛠️ Moderation Process

The goal of moderation is to keep Cincy Discord safe, functional, and welcoming — not to punish people for minor mistakes.

Most moderation situations are handled gradually and may include:

A friendly reminder or public clarification
A private Admin ticket or conversation
Removal of content or redirection of a discussion
Slow mode, temporary restrictions, or timeouts when needed
Temporary or permanent removal for repeated or serious behavior

Not every situation follows the same sequence. Severe conduct may result in stronger action immediately, while minor issues may be resolved with nothing more than a reminder.

Opening or receiving an Admin ticket does not automatically mean someone is in trouble. Tickets are often used to clarify expectations, understand what happened, de-escalate a problem, or prevent something from becoming more serious.

Members are allowed to disagree with moderation decisions and ask questions. However, hostility, threats, insults, deliberate disruption, or attempts to turn moderation into a public fight may result in additional action.

When a rule involves an ongoing pattern rather than a single incident, staff will consider context, previous interactions, prior reminders, and the overall effect on the community.

Moderation is not perfect, and staff may revisit or correct a decision when new information becomes available.

🔔 Channel Use & Notifications

Natural conversation sometimes drifts off topic, and that’s okay. Just be mindful of channels that have a specific purpose — especially event planning, support, informational, or other focused spaces.

If a side conversation becomes lengthy or starts making the channel harder to use for its intended purpose, please move it to a more appropriate channel. Moderators may redirect conversations when needed.

Use mentions and pingable roles thoughtfully. Tag people only when their attention is reasonably relevant, and don’t repeatedly ping someone to demand a response.

Opt-in activity or event roles should be used when you’re actually organizing or announcing something relevant to that role, rather than simply testing interest.

In event channels, reserve broad or repeated pings for important updates such as major logistical changes or appropriate day-of reminders. Ordinary updates can usually be posted without another notification.

🗣️ Controversial Topics & Debate

Cincy Discord is a social community first, and our main channels are intended to remain relatively relaxed and accessible. Some conversations are better suited to an opt-in space where members can choose whether they have the interest or emotional bandwidth to engage with them.

Politics, hot-button issues, and other inherently controversial topics belong in the opt-in Debate & Controversial Topics channel.

Staff may also redirect discussions involving serious, emotionally heavy, or socially contentious subjects when the conversation is likely to require more attention or emotional bandwidth than is appropriate for a general social channel. A topic does not have to be controversial in the sense that reasonable people disagree about whether something is good or bad for it to be better suited to the opt-in channel.

This does not mean that every serious, sad, negative, or difficult subject automatically belongs in Debate. Ordinary conversation about personal experiences, health, work, relationships, grief, difficult days, or news can still occur in appropriate channels. Brief mentions of heavier subjects also do not necessarily require redirection.

Staff will consider the subject matter, context, length and intensity of the discussion, the purpose of the channel it is occurring in, and how much the conversation is beginning to dominate or change the tone of that space.

Ordinary disagreement and thoughtful discussion are allowed in normal channels. A difference of opinion by itself does not require moving to Debate. However, if a conversation becomes sustained, intense, argumentative, emotionally demanding, or starts dominating a general channel, moderators may ask participants to continue it in Debate or disengage.

In the Debate & Controversial Topics channel:

Be clear. Explain what you’re discussing and what your viewpoint is. Avoid vague posts intended primarily to provoke reactions.
Be constructive. Give reasons for your position and engage with what others actually say.
Be respectful. Disagreement is expected; insults, baiting, hostility, and personal attacks are not.
Stay in good faith. The goal should be discussion, not simply defeating, embarrassing, or provoking another member.
Contribute to the discussion. Don’t derail conversations or repeatedly inject unrelated grievances.
Provide context with links. News and opinion pieces are allowed, but explain why you’re sharing them or what you want to discuss.

Moving a conversation to Debate is not a punishment and does not mean the topic or viewpoint is inappropriate. The channel exists so members can choose when they want to participate in conversations that may be controversial, intense, or require more emotional bandwidth than ordinary social chat.

Moving a conversation to Debate does not suspend the rest of the server rules. Members may also disengage at any time; not every disagreement or difficult subject needs to be debated or resolved.

🔎 Be Honest & Source Serious Claims

Do not knowingly spread false or misleading information, fabricate evidence, or deliberately misrepresent a source.

When making a serious factual claim or allegation about a person, organization, or event — especially one that could harm someone’s reputation, inflame controversy, or prompt others to take action — provide a reliable source appropriate to the claim.

Ordinary conversation and minor factual claims do not require citations. Opinions also do not require sources, although factual claims used to support an opinion may.

If a significant factual claim is reasonably challenged, be prepared to provide supporting evidence or clarify that the claim is uncertain. Genuine disagreements between credible sources are not dishonesty; acknowledge uncertainty when the available evidence is mixed.

Do not use fabricated, altered, deceptively cropped, or falsely attributed screenshots, quotations, citations, or other evidence. Deliberately falsifying evidence may result in severe moderation action.

Serious accusations involving another Cincy Discord member should generally be reported privately to the Admin team rather than posted publicly.

🩺 Health & Medical Advice

Cincy Discord is a social community, not a source of individualized medical care. Members are welcome to discuss health, disabilities, medical conditions, treatment experiences, and navigating the healthcare system.

Allowed:

Sharing your own experiences with symptoms, diagnoses, medications, treatments, or healthcare
Discussing general health information
Offering ordinary, low-risk suggestions or saying what has helped you personally
Encouraging someone to speak with a doctor, pharmacist, therapist, or other appropriate professional
Suggesting that someone seek urgent or emergency medical attention when you are concerned about their safety

Do not:

Diagnose another member or present a speculative diagnosis as established fact
Tell another member to start, stop, increase, decrease, or otherwise change a prescription medication or dosage
Tell someone to ignore or replace treatment recommended by their healthcare provider
Give individualized treatment instructions for a potentially serious medical or mental-health condition
Present unsupported or uncertain medical claims as established fact when acting on them could reasonably cause harm

When discussing what worked for you, make it clear when you are describing your own experience rather than telling another person what treatment they should follow. Serious medical claims may also fall under our Be Honest & Source Serious Claims rule.

🧹 Server Etiquette

Some expectations are less about serious misconduct and more about keeping the server pleasant and easy to use.

Don’t Yuck Someone Else’s Yum

Disagreement is fine, and nobody has to enjoy the same things. However, repeatedly mocking, belittling, or making fun of something another member enjoys can become disruptive.

You can say you dislike something without putting down the people who like it.

Use Spoiler Tags

Use ||spoiler tags|| when discussing meaningful spoilers for movies, television, games, books, or similar media.

Fake spoilers are not allowed either.

Avoid Excessive Message Deletions

Editing or deleting a message occasionally is completely fine.

However, repeatedly posting messages and quickly deleting them can make conversations difficult to follow and frustrating for others. If it becomes a pattern, staff may ask you to change how you’re posting.

These are generally reminder-level issues unless the behavior becomes repeated, deliberate, or part of a larger disruptive pattern.

⚖️ Illegal Activity & Regulated Goods

Do not use Cincy Discord to organize, facilitate, promote, or coordinate illegal activity.

The server also may not be used to buy, sell, trade, gift, or otherwise arrange transactions involving prohibited or regulated goods such as illegal drugs, weapons, ammunition, or other restricted items.

Additional Cincy Discord rules regarding recreational drugs, alcohol, tobacco, piracy, emulation, ROMs, and other restricted content are explained in the sections below.

Piracy, Emulation & ROMs

Do not use Cincy Discord to share, obtain, or coordinate unauthorized access to copyrighted media or software. This includes pirated downloads, cracks, ripped media, unauthorized streams, torrent or download links, and instructions intended to help others obtain copyrighted material without authorization.

No Emulation or ROM Discussion

To keep moderation simple and avoid requiring staff to determine whether individual use cases are legal, we do not allow discussion of:

Video game emulators
ROMs or ROM files
BIOS or firmware files used for emulation
Methods for dumping, copying, or creating game/ROM/BIOS backups for emulation
Where or how to obtain these files

This restriction applies even when a particular emulator, backup, homebrew project, or other use may be legal.

This is an intentionally conservative Cincy Discord house rule. It is broader than Discord’s minimum requirements so moderators do not have to make complicated copyright or legality determinations case-by-case.

Ordinary discussion of video games, game preservation as a general topic, official backwards compatibility, cloud/save-game backups, remasters, rereleases, and legally sold retro-game collections is allowed as long as the conversation does not shift into emulators, ROMs, BIOS files, or methods for copying game software.

Cannabis, Recreational Drugs & Regulated Substances

To keep moderation simple and consistent, Cincy Discord does not allow discussion of recreational drug use or consumption, including marijuana, cannabis, THC products, illegal drugs, or the recreational misuse of controlled substances.

Not allowed:

Discussion or pictures centered on personal recreational drug use or consumption
Asking where or how to obtain drugs or THC products
Buying, selling, trading, gifting, or coordinating the sharing of drugs
Discussing how to grow, manufacture, distribute, or source drugs
Planning to bring, distribute, or share drugs at Cincy Discord meetups
Linking to sites, servers, or other resources intended to facilitate those activities

Allowed:

News articles or reporting about drugs, marijuana, or related laws
Public policy and legal discussion
General societal discussion about these topics
Ordinary discussion of legitimately prescribed medications and medical treatment
Ordinary discussion of alcohol or tobacco

The server may not be used to buy, sell, trade, gift, or otherwise coordinate the exchange of regulated substances, including alcohol or tobacco.

If an allowed conversation shifts into personal recreational use, sourcing, distribution, transactions, or meetup coordination, moderators may redirect or remove it.

This rule is intentionally broader than Discord’s current minimum requirements. We use a simple, conservative standard so moderators do not have to make complicated case-by-case distinctions and so the server is less affected by future changes to Discord’s regulated-goods or age-restriction policies.

📣 Sales, Solicitation & Self-Promotion

Cincy Discord is a social and meetup community, not a marketplace or advertising platform.

Do not use the server to:

Buy or sell goods or services
Advertise your business, side hustle, shop, paid service, or other commercial project
Solicit customers, clients, subscriptions, donations, or financial support
Post crowdfunding or fundraising campaigns without Admin approval
Recruit members to another Discord server or online community without Admin approval
Repeatedly promote outside projects, events, organizations, or content for your own benefit

Talking normally about your job, hobbies, projects, business, band, volunteer work, or other things you’re involved with is fine. The issue is using access to the community to solicit purchases, money, customers, recruits, or other support.

Occasional offers of ordinary items for free are allowed unless staff asks otherwise. The server may not be used for transactions involving regulated or prohibited goods.

🐾 Pet Adoption & Rehoming

Do not use Cincy Discord to sell, adopt out, rehome, give away, or otherwise arrange the transfer of a pet.

If you need help rehoming an animal, you may ask for advice or recommendations for reputable shelters, rescues, or other appropriate resources.

Admins may approve certain fundraising, promotional, or community-related posts case-by-case. Permission to post something does not mean Cincy Discord has verified, sponsored, or endorsed it.

🔞 18+ Only

You must be at least 18 years old to participate in Cincy Discord. This is an adults-only community because our server is focused on real-world social connections and in-person meetups.

If you believe another member may be under 18, report the concern privately to the Admin team. Do not confront them publicly, investigate their personal information, or encourage others to do so.

When staff has a credible reason to question whether someone meets the age requirement, we may ask the member to reasonably confirm that they are 18 or older.

Members who are under 18 will be removed from the server. Being removed solely because of age does not necessarily prevent someone from joining once they are old enough. Deliberately lying about age or attempting to evade a prior removal may result in additional moderation action.

🆘 Crisis & Self-Harm Content

Cincy Discord is a social community and is not equipped to provide crisis intervention. Please do not use the server for active suicide or self-harm crisis disclosures.

Not allowed:

Statements indicating that you are considering, planning, or intending suicide or self-harm
Threats or insinuations of imminent self-harm
Graphic descriptions, images, or detailed discussion of self-harm

Encouraging, glorifying, joking about, or normalizing suicide or self-harm
Asking members or staff to manage an active self-harm or suicide crisis

General, non-graphic discussion of mental health, past experiences, news, public policy, prevention, medical topics, or media that references suicide or self-harm is allowed as long as it does not turn into active crisis content.

Encouraging another person to harm or kill themselves is also considered harassment and may result in severe moderation action.

If someone appears to be in immediate danger, staff may remove the content, restrict further posting, and take appropriate safety actions. Members and volunteer staff are not expected to provide crisis counseling.

💬 Feedback & Moderation Questions

If you have ideas, feedback, concerns, or questions for staff, please open a private support ticket using the 📞︱request-a-chat-with-the-admin channel.

Please do not DM individual Admins or Moderators about server business. Using the ticket system helps make sure the staff team can see the issue, preserve context, and respond consistently.

If you disagree with a moderation decision, you may:

Ask staff to explain the decision or applicable rule
Provide additional context or correct factual misunderstandings
Disagree respectfully with the decision
Request additional review when appropriate

When practical, a moderation concern will be reviewed by an Admin who was not primarily involved in the original decision. Some decisions are made collectively by the Admin team, so an entirely independent internal review may not always be possible.

Disagreement with moderation is not itself a rule violation. However, repeatedly relitigating a resolved issue, turning the dispute into a public campaign, or becoming hostile, threatening, insulting, or deliberately disruptive may result in further moderation.

⛔ Ban Appeals

A permanent ban means that a member remains removed unless the Admin team later approves an appeal.

Banned members may submit an appeal after 3 months through the Cincy Discord Ban Appeal server.

Submitting an appeal does not guarantee that the ban will be reversed. Staff may consider factors including:

The seriousness of the original behavior
Whether the member understands why the behavior was a problem
Their conduct during and after the original moderation process
Whether there is reason to believe the behavior would be different if they returned
Community safety and the likelihood of future disruption

Serious original misconduct may make an appeal unlikely to succeed, but banned members may still submit one for review.

Appeals must go through the Ban Appeal process rather than the main server or private messages to staff.

Repeated appeals without meaningful new information may be declined.
