Totally not a shameless Timeleft rip-off.
One of our favorite low-pressure ways to connect with others in Cincy Discord is through Dinner Buddies — our playful, opt-in system for grabbing a meal with other members of the community. It’s casual, it’s fun, and it’s a great excuse to eat good food with new people.
🌐 How It Works:
- Head over to the #dinner-buddies channel on the server.
- React to the post to open a dropdown menu of time slots.
- Pick a time when you’re available for dinner (e.g. Friday at 7:30 PM).
- Once you select a time, you’ll be added to a private planning channel with others who chose the same time.
- Use that channel to make plans, suggest places, or throw out wild ideas like dumpling crawls or sushi roulette.
At the end of the week, all the Dinner Buddies channels get cleared out, and the opt-ins reset. This keeps it fresh and gives everyone a chance to participate when they’re actually available.

🌊 Why It’s Awesome:
- It’s low commitment — just opt in when you’re free that week.
- It’s group-focused, so you don’t have to plan a whole event alone.
- It helps break the ice with new members in a relaxed setting.
- It turns online convos into real-world connections (with fries).
Whether you’re new to town, trying to get more involved, or just hungry, Dinner Buddies is one of the easiest ways to plug into the Cincy Discord community.
🚀 Tips for Making It Happen:
- Post a message in your time slot channel to kick things off.
- Suggest a place and see who’s interested.
- Be flexible! Not everyone has the same taste or budget.
- Don’t overthink it. Even if just 2 or 3 people show up, that’s a win.
